I am so glad I took the time to master how to make buffalo wings because this dish is one of the reasons why my husband won’t ever leave me! My entire family loves it and my three year old will eat it even though they are a hot! He just asks for a glass of ice cold water. Seriously though, they really are that good.
Ingredients:
1 stick butter
3/4 cup hot sauce
black pepper, dash
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
20 chicken wings
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp milk
oil for frying

Directions:
1. Mix flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, 1/2 tsp seasoned salt, garlic salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper.
2. Whisk together butter, hot sauce, dash black pepper, 1 tsp seasoned salt, and garlic powder.

3. If you didn’t purchase wingettes and drumettes, you will need to cut your wings. See images below.

4. Mix egg and milk in a bowl.

5. Coat chicken with egg and milk mixture.
6. Pour flour mixture in Ziploc bag if you have one, this is not necessary, you can use a bowl. Place drumettes and wingettes in flour mixture and mix until they are thoroughly coated.

Your Chicken should look like this if they are coated correctly. The entire chicken should appear dry and completed covered.
7. Fry the chicken.

8. Fry until chicken juices run clear, about 10 minutes.

9. Pour buffalo wing sauce over chicken.

Cooking your own soul food macaroni and cheese will get you way more praise than preparing the kind that comes in the box. Don’t get me wrong, I have those days when there is just too much going on and I will cook Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and dare anyone in my family to complain but, when I do make this macaroni dish, they really appreciate it and me!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
2 cups of milk
1/4 pound velveeta cheese, cubed
1/2 pound extra sharp cheese, shredded or cubed
2 cup of uncooked elbow macaroni
Directions:
1. Boil 4 cups of water and add 2 cups of uncooked elbow macaroni. Continue to boil uncovered for 6 – 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Since you will come to a point where you will have to move quickly to avoid burning your dish, I would go on and dice my cheese, if necessary, measure my milk, flour, and salt. Preheat oven to 350.
3. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

4. Add flour and salt. Stir continuously for about a minute.

5. Add milk slowly while stirring.

6. Now you can add your diced extra sharp cheese and Velveeta processed cheese.

7. Stir until the cheese is well blended with the flour and milk mixture.

8. Add cooked elbow macaroni to the cheese mixture and mix well.
9. Grease your baking dish, (I use butter).
10. Pour in your macaroni and cheese and bake for 20 minutes.

Welcome to My Soul Food Recipes Site! I have been wanting to publish a site full of soul food recipes with pictures for a while now and have not had the chance to get around to it! Everyone always wants my recipes and comments on how I should charge for them or how I should use them to start my own restaurant. I don’t know about those two options but they will be uploaded here for free!
I have been cooking forever! My Grandma had me in the kitchen when I was eight years old and her passion for cooking passed on to me. I think I can cook because I enjoy food, I enjoy cooking, and I enjoy compliments. lol Over the years, I have learned that people could cook better if they were not so used to eating and preparing prepackaged food! It makes you lazy and it makes you doubt your ability to cook. Another reason people cook bland food is because they are afraid to season! When you look at the pictures of my food as I am cooking, you will see that my meats are smothered with seasoning. My fried chicken is seasoned with garlic salt, onion powder, pepper, seasoned salt, and paprika. These seasonings are put on the chicken and in my homemade breader! We will talk more about that later.
It would be my pleasure to post recipes that you can be confident will taste good enough for you to feed to your family. In return, all I ask is that you participate in the ratings. Upload your own pictures and rate and comment on my recipes!! Share them on Facebook or via email with your friends if you like them.
